Mind and Body, Heart and Soul 😊

 Hello

Dear Reader, here are my wishes for the New Calendar Year 2023💓

The year 2022, with all its promises, is leading us all to 2023. It is traditional and customary to talk about the lessons learnt and about starting all over again. I am not much of a 'new year resolution' person and definitely do believe that each one has to choose her/his path, I am tempted to share some of my key learnings rooted in everyday experiences.

First and foremost, respect our body, mind and time.

        1. Healthy Food--our body lets us create an identity of our own. So, maintain it like a well-oiled machine if you want it to run smoothly and long. NEVER try to fit into societal fads. Sometimes, the prescriptive remedies may be beneficial; but not all prescriptions are so. Learn to listen to the body's requirements. Generally, what you have to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner or how much water you have to drink is something you should know without any app or expert 'advice'. That's something of a 'basic manner' one has to maintain with our self. Any app can tell you what is good for you; ONLY you know what is excellent for you! Of course, there are times when additional help becomes essential and never shy away from taking help, getting tested if required.

       2. To manage the mind is not to be underestimated. Find your own happy mind space. Dopamine is the happy hormone during a pleasurable activity--exercise or a hobby. Let's not loan it to anything that could undermine our health--physical, psychological and emotional. Just as exercise plays a vital role in keeping the body fit, learning to manage your intelligence, skills and abilities is requisite. It is NEVER too late to pick up a dropped hobby or begin a new one, irrespective of age. After all, the new age mantra is right--' You are here for yourself; not to please people!!' Believe me, millennials are right there and it's a fine mantra, to begin with, 😃(never allow yourself a blurred vision--there is a thin line between taking care of 'self' and being ego-centric. Who says anything about Life  not teaching acrobatics?!!?)

       3. Take your intimate relationships seriously. This is one of my life experiences --there is always a choice. There are times when choosing becomes difficult; when one has to make unconventional, socially unacceptable choices. Do make those choices; but, ensure that it does not undermine the well-being of your family, parents and friends. It is not about being 'judgy'; it's about being conscientious, being aware of your role and functioning accordingly.  (PS: not making any choice is also choosing-- like not taking any/the decision is also a decision)

   4. In India, we say to abide by 'time' is to abide by God's will. Respecting time is spiritual and professional. Jot down everyday tasks, allotting time slots for each activity. If nothing, this guarantees time for your activities-a quality time with yourself is invaluable!! This is another beneficial millennial mantra., so to say 😊

Personally 'Mindfulness' is a principle to follow this 2023. Dear Reader, what is yours? If you would like to share, please do here👇

Wishing you a better, healthier, happier, and prosperous 2023 to you. Cheers 🎉🎉
